learning & the curriculum

As an Early Years provision we have a statutory duty to help children to work towards the Early Learning Goals (ELG’s), as laid out by the Statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2021).

At Moringa we follow the principles of the ‘Birth to 5 Matters’ non-statutory guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2021), ensuring:

o   the child is always at the centre of our practice;

o   the child’s connections are established within family, communities, cultures and the natural world;

o   that consideration is given to the whole child: physical, social and emotional wellbeing, health, and learning

o   that the child’s rights are considered as members of society under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC),

o   the sectors responsibilities are maintained under the United Nations Sustainability Goals and UNESCO Education for Sustainable Development

o   the statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice are maintained.
